•What is channeling?
Very simply, channeling is where one chooses to use his or her ability to bring forth information and guidance to the physical realm from the non-physical realm by translating thoughts, feelings, visual perceptions and sensory impulses into the spoken or written word.
I like to explain it by using the analogy of a radio and how we receive information from it. When we turn on the radio, it simply acts as a receiver for the station the radio is set for. The frequency of the radio matches the frequency of the radio station and we hear, for example, pop music. When we change the station, we then can get another type of music such as country music.
•I am a channel for Pele-Goddess of Fire
In much the same way, I act as a receiver of energy and am a channel for Pele — the Goddess of Fire, and am able to “tune in” to her frequency and “speak” her words. I have learned how to go into a state of deep meditation and allow her energy to flow through me. Because she exists outside this dimension, the words she speaks and the wisdom she brings forth through me are so uniquely hers that people find value in her knowledge and in the experience.
•How and why do people have a session?
Well, people that have never had the experience of this type of thing will find me either because they feel that they have always felt an affinity with Pele and desire to experience a direct connection with her, or people are “curious” about channeling and because they know me or trust me, come for a session to try it out.
Mostly though, when people have questions about their purpose, their soul, their existence, their feelings or about problems or obstacles in their life that they just can’t seem to solve or understand, they seek her counsel. When one begins to awaken spiritually to themselves, she is able to offer information that one can’t get from general sources.
•What is it like?
It is always, 100% of the time, wonderful, inspirational, and filled with love. Everyone will go away feeling better and have a greater understanding of their life on earth.
The procedure is that we sit at my office or make a time to talk by phone. I open with a prayer, and then take a few mins to “connect” to her. When I am connected to her energy, Pele begins to speak, using my physical presence, voice box, etc. but immediately you know that it is not me.
She has some sort of accent — some say Irish, some say British, some say Ancient Hawaiian — I can’t really tell but basically it allows you to really distinguish her from me. She holds my body differently than I usually do and apparently has different expressions that show on my face that my usual ones.
She is loving, wise, gentle, personable, and easy to talk to, yet firm in her presence. She understands everything one is going through and seems to always be able to suggest ways to move things into a better space.
•That sounds scary — does she “take over your body”?
It may seem that way, on the outside, but in actuality, I not only invite her and allow her to blend with my energies but I have to work really really really hard to get to that state. We have an agreement and after all these years of working with her and me striving day by day to connect deeper with her, I now trust her completely. I feel so very blessed that she would work with me in this way. It is actually a great honor to be able to feel her presence and work with her.
I always tell people that when you have a session with me (her), you are actually paying for the first three minutes where I have to make the connection. That is the hardest part for me. Once we are connected, she does all the work!
•How did it happen? Were you “chosen” or do you have a special gift?
I was not “chosen”, nor do I have a special gift. I worked hard to gain this ability and it entailed hundreds of hours of meditation, automatic writing and practice.
Believe me, I never desired to “grow up and become a channel.” I used to go to channels and mediums to get insight from time to time, but do it myself? Never. Too “weird.” Well, one day I heard from another guide that Pele was looking for a spokesperson and would I be interested? Of course I said “no” because as I mentioned, it really wasn’t my “thing” to do. I was happy with weddings, astrology and feng shui and that was more than enough to keep me busy.
However, the process intrigued me, that one could actually “learn” this. So I kept getting these nudges to “try” and so that began my private journey in 2004 which led me to bringing her out publicly in 2007.
•Final Words
This may or may not be for you. It is just another way to seek guidance. Either you are drawn to it or not. Feel curious about it or are not. Everyone is different in what they resonate with. I have Goddess Gatherings (men welcome) every few months where she speaks to the group, as well, in 2009 sometime I am thinking of doing a big channeling event so people can come and hear my story of how I became a channel and then have Pele talk to everyone. I’m not sure if the main public is ready yet, but there is so much craziness yet to unfold in 2009 that it may be wonderful to create a space of peace, love and insight for others.
