WHAT IS ASTROLOGY? Astrology is an incredible tool that can be used to get valuable and insightful information about ourselves and our lives. It is an accurate way to find out about our strengths and potentials as well as understand upcoming personal cycles of change and opportunity. The energies at the moment of your birth (based on planetary positions) are unique to only you – like your thumbprint. From the time, day and location of your birth we can create a “birth chart” from the planet positions and get a lot of information that’s very specific.
We can also use current planetary positions to get an understanding as to the current cycles in your life. When might you move, have special opportunities, be extra busy, change directions, need more time alone, be lucky, redefine your career, restructure a relationship...it all shows up!

Most people agree that both heredity and environment factor into why people are the way they are. However, at times, there's no explanation for why a child bears no resemblance at all to the family he came from, or why two siblings are so completely opposite from each other. Why is it that the child that is raised in a deprived, even abusive environment grows up and succeeds in life while another raised in the same family, grows up and repeats the abusive behavior? Why are you the way you are? We can see it in your birth chart. Astrology is a way of filing in the gaps that can't easily be seen or explained by either heredity or environment. It is a way to achieve increased awareness of ourselves our lives and those we love.
There's nothing in your chart that consigns you to a particular "fate". Where there are limitations or challenges, you must still make choices as to how to respond. You can compare it to a blueprint of a building, in that it gives a basic plan, but does not dictate the final results, as many choices will be made along the way in regards to quality or workmanship or building materials. Your birth chart is your "basic plan."
For example, astrology can't tell you if your marriage or partnership is going to end, but it can tell you during what time period you will be dealing with issues regarding the intimate relationship in your life. It will be up to you (or your partner) to determine whether you will continue that relationship or not. Astrology can only identify the energies that surrounds you, not the choices that you make.
By using astrological knowledge, you put yourself ahead of the game. It gives you information that you can use to anticipate both times of opportunity and potential challenges.

What do I need to do to get a reading?
At the time you book your appointment, I will need your birthday, birth location and birth time. This is very important, as incorrect birth time will give inaccurate information. The birth time is located on your birth certificate. If you don't have it, you can order a copy at www.vitalchek.com (for all 50 states) which takes several weeks. Or, you can get a copy immediately if you live and were born in Hawaii at the Department of Health. It's located at 1250 Punchbowl Street, Room 103, on the corner of South Beretania. The parking entrance is on S. Beretania. They are open Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The birth time needs to be exact as possible to maximize the accuracy and amount of information given. There is a small fee ($10-$15) to get a copy of the birth certificate through these two venues.
